Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton

My Dearest Brothers, Vidg and Mitch,
It has been a serious walk since you left this present world. Your lives were difficult I know and I decided some time ago to make sure your lives were not in vain. I have been teaching at a group weekly and share thoughts and scriptures with them via text from time to time to encourage and teach. I just wanted to start writing you so you can see how I have been doing – or I should say, how God has been doing through me. Without Him, I am nothing. I know nothing worth knowing without Him and His Word. Here’s one of my first texts from August 2018.
“Good morning ladies. I hope your week has been good. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5 NKJV.
And don’t forget Galatians 2:20 that says we live by the faith of the son of God who loved us and gave himself for us.
Faith is given, not something we manufacture or make happen. When we receive Christ, we receive the fruit of the spirit. We can cultivate them like a plant but they are already there: love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith meekness and self-control. Galatians 5:23.
Have a blessed day in His Love.”
I want to do everything I can to direct people way from deadly addictions – of course, I don’t know of a one that isn’t – even control can be a deadly addiction in some ways. It can kill any relationship no matter how close. In fact, the closer the worse it can be. So what is to be said of heroin, marijuana, alcohol, sugar, cigarettes and all that take days, years or months to kill?
My job is one I take very seriously but I do not push myself on anyone. I will encourage anyone needing it, give direction when wanted and asked for and pray always. I do not want another death, if it is at all possible. I know Valarie is with you and that is a terrible thing for us here. I know she is happy now though. I know she is free like you both are.
I’ll update you again soon.
I love you, Vidg and Mitch.
Your big sis, Hope
